Hundreds of roses — climbers over the veranda, standards along the path, and the formal beds at the heart of it. In season the whole place hums. Ann will happily talk roses for as long as you'd like.
Down to the river
Walk the garden to its end and you're on the Waikato — New Zealand's longest river, wide and green and quiet here. Take breakfast down, or an evening glass of wine; the picnic table has the best seat in Broadlands.
